Magnetite was the main metallic mineral in this iron ore. The iron content of raw ore was 22%, and the sulfur content was 0.55%. The sulfur content of the iron concentrate after magnetic separation was 1.2%~1.5%, which could not meet the quality requirement of iron concentrate. Based on the ore characteristics, Xinhai Mining Technology & Equipment Inc. adopted process of “coarse grinding & discarding tailings, stage grinding separation, and concentrate by magnetic separation & desulphurization by flotation”. By applying this process, qualified iron concentrate with iron content of 68.99% and sulfur content of 0.25% could be obtained.
